When choosing a double stroller for Disney, you will want to consider all of the same things you do for a single x2! Size, price, weight, comfort, and your family’s specific needs are all important.

Choosing the stroller that best suits your needs can be a challenge, however, here are a few tips to ease the pressure on you and make the whole ordeal a walk in the park!

Durability

The MOST important thing to consider is durability. Disney is rough on strollers, and I’m saying that lightly. This is especially true if you’re taking a stroller to Disney World on a multi-day trip. You will be putting a lot of miles on the stroller, folding and unfolding it repeatedly for transportation, pushing it through crowds, and over those (pain in the butt) trolley rails.

This means you need to look for strollers with strong frames and long-lasting materials. If you don’t want to make the investment for a high-quality stroller that’s built to last, you also have the option of renting.

Maneuverability

Maneuverability is a must in any Walt Disney Park, especially to get through areas of congestion.

You will want a double stroller that is lightweight, small, and simple to maneuver. This means it will be very important to take into account its dimensions, weight, and wheel design.

*Pro-tip: To make turning and maneuvering in small areas easier, look for a stroller with front swivel wheels.

Easy to Fold & Compact

 While maneuverability is essential in the parks, you will want a stroller that is easy to fold and compact when coming to and from the park. Again, this point is even more important for Walt Disney World than it is for Disneyland as you are more likely to take advantage of the buses and monorail to get from park to park.

Trust me, you don’t want to battle with your stroller every time you need to fold it up! It’s the worst-case scenario when you’re in a crowd and trying to wrangle little ones.

Look for one with a one-handed fold mechanism. A handle or carry straps are also a nice bonus.

Must-Have Features

When visiting a theme park, it’s crucial to have a stroller with a large storage basket. You will want a secure spot to keep your personal possessions, including snacks, water bottles, the diaper bag, and more. If your double stroller comes with a cup holder or two, that’s also a plus!

For the sake of shielding your child from the sun and other weather elements, a stroller with a large canopy is the best for a stroll in Walt Disney World. A decent canopy should be flexible, offer your child plenty of shade, and feature a peek-a-boo glass so you can monitor them.

When taking your child to an amusement park, reclining seats are crucial for their comfort. Choose a stroller with seats that can recline in a variety of settings so your child may take a nap or unwind during the day.

For added safety, the seat should also be able to be adjusted and have a five-point harness.

Parks Policy

I consider all of the above a must, BUT there is one requirement that the best double stroller absolutely must meet… the official Disney stroller restrictions.

Renting a Stroller
